Talk: Anakin Skywalker
Anakin's Canon Age
Regarding Anakin's age, it appears this page states he was 19 in Attack of the Clones, based on his birth year being 41 BBY. This contrasts with Legends, where he was consistently depicted as 20 in Episode II. However, the 41 BBY birth year seems compatible with the Legends explanation of 41.9 BBY (still less than 42 years before A New Hope), which would make him nearly 10 in The Phantom Menace and just under 20 in Attack of the Clones. The age of 20 in AotC was also supported by promotional material released at the time of the movie's release. Unless there's a source explicitly stating he's 19 in AotC (which I haven't encountered), I believe the story group's intention for canon could still be 20. Blond hair color
I'm reiterating this point after several reversions to provide a more comprehensive explanation than an edit summary allows. The hair color of Anakin in canon is never explicitly referred to as "brown," although some editors have speculated and added it to the infobox based on their personal opinion. Canonically, both Anakin and Luke are described as having "blond" hair as children, while Anakin's adult hair is described as "light" and "dark" in shade, without specifying a color. In Legends, his hair was "blond" during his childhood and "sandy-blond" as a young adult. Please refrain from altering the color to something different without providing a citation to support the change. :) Immi Thrax (talk) 14:23, 2 July 2021 (UTC)
Birth planet
Why does the article list Tatooine as Anakin's planet of birth, despite Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace stating that he and his mother relocated there when he was quite young? 90.213.118.8 14:05, 26 July 2021 (UTC)
- The term "Homeworld" could refer to either the planet of one's birth or the planet where one was raised. OOM 224 ༼༽talk༼༽ 14:09, 26 July 2021 (UTC) My understanding is that the article lists Tatooine as his birthplace (in addition to homeworld) because The Star Wars Book states, "Born on the desert planet Tatooine, Anakin Skywalker spends his early days as an enslaved person alongside his mother, Shmi." I personally believe this statement is incorrect and contradicts the film, as that book contains other inaccuracies. (Legends material more explicitly confirmed his arrival on the planet, but Legends isn't canon). What are the thoughts of others on this? Immi Thrax (talk) 15:16, 26 July 2021 (UTC)
Death Star
At the conclusion of Star Wars Episode 3, we observe Vader, Tarkin, and the Emperor viewing the Death Star. Having read the Darth Vader 2017 comic series, I haven't found this scene depicted anywhere within it. When exactly does this scene occur? ** Erdan5** ( talk) 02:35, September 25, 2021 (UTC)
- To the best of my knowledge, its precise timing has never been definitively established. VergenceScatter ( talk ) 19:43, 25 September 2021 (UTC) Based on the current timeline, it would appear to take place after issue 6 of that series. Lewisr (talk) 21:55, 25 September 2021 (UTC)
Darth Vader as a cultural figure
Here is an additional item that could be added to this page: ZDOGGMD, a physician creating YouTube content about medical topics, has incorporated "Doc Vader" clips for several years. https://zdoggmd.com/category/doc-vader/ One of my favorites is about VIP medicine. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vedjxzhoy-k Should this reference be included on the page? If so, someone with more expertise than myself should handle the addition.
Anakin's force ghost
Do you all think they should revert Anakin's force ghost to the Sebastian Shaw version, but keep Hayden Christensen's eyes and a portion of his longer hair? This would make Anakin appear to be in his 40s, which is how old he was when he died. —Unsigned comment by 23.28.164.239 (talk • contribs).
- Just a reminder that talk pages are for discussing wiki edits and possible page changes, not character discussions. If you want to discuss Star Wars lore with other fans, create an account and join Wookieepedia Discussions . Thanks! LucaRoR (Talk) 10:10, 18 March 2023 (UTC)
Duel with Dooku on Tythe.
I have some questions: 1) Why is this article treating Dooku's quote from the game as canon, while the Tythe article does not? Shouldn't the site maintain consistency in its rules? 2) Even if we assume the quote is canon, why are we sure it was said BEFORE or during the Battle of Coruscant? The phrase could have been said at any point during the Clone Wars, considering Dooku and Anakin fought on multiple occasions. —Unsigned comment by AlexAstahov2222 (talk • contribs).
- I'm not entirely sure what you mean; both pages contain the information but don't consider Dooku's exact quote as canon. And it must be before Coruscant for obvious reasons. Because there is no definitive answer to when they fought, there is no ideal place to put it Lewisr ( talk ) 19:39, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
Timelines
I haven't located any articles that cite Star Wars: Timelines when mentioning his birth year as 41 BBY. Can anyone who owns the book confirm whether it mentions his birth? Civil Warrior (talk) 03:01, 24 July 2023 (UTC)
- It's mentioned on page 47, in the bottom right corner in a box with Ahsoka and Kanan's birth years: '41 BBY: Anakin Skywalker—born mysteriously to Shmi Skywalker, without a father' Lewisr ( talk ) 03:07, 24 July 2023 (UTC) I appreciate it! The Indian in the Cupboard
Should we create a Wookieepedia page for the film The Indian in the Cupboard (1995)? It features an authorized appearance of Darth Vader, similar to the appearances of Luke, C3PO, and others on The Muppet Show and Sesame Street.Matthew Babe Stevenson (talk) 12:09, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
is this a typo?
In the section Anakin Skywalker#Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka, the following sentence appears (with bold and italics for emphasis):
- Harold said the key to the duel on Mapuzo and Vader is feeling and articulating the range and anger under it all.
Is the intended wording one of these options (without my bold and italics)?
- Harold said the key to the duel on Mapuzo is Vader feeling and articulating the rage and anger under it all.
or
- the range of anger under it all.
I'm having issues with copy-paste and preview, so I hope this is clear.

image organization
Given the recent addition of multiple infobox images per character on the wiki (which is a FANTASTIC improvement, by the way), shouldn't Anakin's images be arranged chronologically, with Vader's image appearing first, as is the case on other pages? Currently, the image order is Episode 3 Anakin, Episode 6 Anakin, Episode 1 Anakin, which doesn't seem logical. BearInsanity (talk) 03:26, 23 December 2024 (UTC)
