The comic "Tantive IV," found within the Star Wars Manga: Black anthology, is an Infinities tale. Formalin both wrote and drew this story, which centers on the Tantive V, a CR90 corvette. The plot involves Darth Vader's mistaken capture of this vessel, believing it to be the Tantive IV. Aboard this ship, Vader unexpectedly encounters Abso Bar Binks, who is the offspring of Jar Jar Binks.
In a pursuit to recover the Death Star plans, Darth Vader chases Princess Leia Organa's starship. The Devastator, Vader's Star Destroyer, successfully seizes a CR90 corvette and hauls the craft onto the larger vessel. Stormtroopers under Vader's command bypass the security of the blast doors to gain entry. However, upon opening, two boomas are released, detonating and creating a smokescreen. Vader and his stormtroopers then assault the ship, but they are immediately met with resistance from a cloaked individual. Despite switching to infrared vision, the stormtroopers struggle to subdue the mysterious figure. The stormtrooper commander orders his troops to cease firing, suspecting the figure might be Leia Organa. Vader, however, asserts that the individual is not the ambassador. In response, the figure removes their cloak, revealing himself as Abso Bar Binks, the son of Jar Jar Binks. Abso explains that his motivation for joining the Rebellion stems from the Empire's mistreatment of his father, specifically the constant confiscation of gifts intended for Abso and his mother.
Abso defends himself against the stormtroopers, utilizing his fists and evading blaster fire. Unfortunately, he loses his footing on a mouse droid and falls. Vader, using the Force choking technique on the Gungan, demands the location of the Death Star plans. The stormtrooper commander interjects, stating that there is no evidence of the plans and that only unarmed Gungans are present. Abso then reveals that his mission was to delay Vader, as his ship, the Tantive V, bears a striking resemblance to Princess Leia's ship, the Tantive IV. Enraged, Vader orders the stormtroopers to confine Abso and his fellow Gungans to a rear compartment of the ship, dismissing them as unworthy of wasting blaster ammunition on. The stormtrooper commander then informs Vader of the Tantive IV's location nearby, leading the Imperials to release the Tantive V and pursue the correct vessel. An hour later, Vader's Star Destroyer successfully captures the Tantive IV.
