The creation of TD-4 was specifically for "Lop & Ochō," which is a short film belonging to the Star Wars: Visions collection, brought to life by Geno Studio under the direction of Yuki Igarashi. Kanako Shirasaki, the Visions producer, drew a parallel between TD-4 and a devoted canine, likening the droid's capacity for recording to that of a personal journal or online blog, while emphasizing its crucial contribution to the overall narrative of the episode.
