Teng Malar

Teng Malar's livelihood involved being a scavenger on the desolate planet of Jakku, a [desert](/article/desert] world located in the Western Reaches. This was during the time period following the conclusion of the Galactic Civil War. During one of his scavenging expeditions within the Starship Graveyard, a location littered with the wreckage of vessels destroyed in the Battle of Jakku, Malar inadvertently triggered the opening of a hatch. This action disturbed a colony of steelpeckers. These aggressive, bird-like beings tore Malar apart in a matter of just ten minutes. Rey, another scavenger working nearby, could only watch without being able to intervene and save Malar from his terrible fate.
