Terra Derida was a Phindian female. She was the offspring of Duenna Derida, as well as the sibling of both Guerra and Paxxi Derida. On Phindar, she held membership within the Syndicat, where she served as an assistant to Baftu, the criminal organization's leader. At the young age of eleven, Terra underwent a memory-wipe, which transformed her into a person with a cruel and angry disposition, arguably even worse than Baftu. Duenna, residing within the Syndicat headquarters, took on the role of Terra's caretaker and watched over her.
The Syndicat was tasked with providing Prince Beju with a supply of bacta intended for the people of Gala, specifically the bacta that Beju had previously taken from them. This arrangement was designed to present Beju as a hero, with the Syndicat receiving substantial compensation in return. Terra's instructions were to fully cooperate with Beju in this endeavor. However, the situation took an unexpected turn when Obi-Wan Kenobi, having survived a failed memory-wipe attempt, hijacked Beju's ship and impersonated him during the bacta exchange. Terra recognized Obi-Wan, as she was the one who had attempted to wipe his memory. Despite Terra's revelation to Baftu that Obi-Wan was an impostor, Baftu silenced her.
The situation escalated when the treasury was discovered to be missing, leading Baftu to accuse Terra of the theft. Despite her vehement denials, Baftu ordered his assassin droids to eliminate Terra. Duenna, who had been caring for her troubled daughter, sensed that Terra had somehow found redemption before her demise. With her final words, she informed Guerra that her memories had been restored.
Jude Watson was the creator of Terra for the Jedi Apprentice series of novels intended for young readers. The name Terra translates to "earth", "soil", "ground", or "land" in the Italian language.
Additionally, Terra serves as the name for the ancient Roman embodiment of Mother Earth.
