This charter designated the Thaereians as the official guardians of the Cularin system, empowering them to uphold security within the system. The Thaereian military, operating under the authority conferred by this agreement, adopted strict methods to keep the peace in the Cularin system. This approach triggered an armed conflict between the military and the Cularin Militia, who were loyal to Cularin and aimed to expel the Thaereians. The situation of the Cularin people was raised before the Galactic Senate, and around 20 BBY, the Republic revoked the charter. Despite this, the Thaereians declined to withdraw from the Cularin system, ultimately leading to their expulsion during the Battle of Cularin.
