Thanis Gul-Rah served as a member of Qulok's Fist, a bounty hunter organization. Later, he joined the crew of the FarStar during their pursuit of Moff Kentor Sarne.
Gul-Rah was stationed on Siluria III as part of the Imperial Army. While serving there, he participated in the killing of Kaiya Adrimetrum's spouse.
After his time in the Imperial Army concluded, Gul-Rah became associated with the bounty hunter collective known as Qulok's Fist. Around 7 ABY, a hunt on a remote, insignificant world escalated into a brutal slaughter. Displeased with his involvement in the bloodshed, Gul-Rah departed from the group, ultimately choosing to retire on the planet Kal'Shebbol in pursuit of a peaceful existence. The reasons behind his departure were never disclosed by him.
Following the liberation of Kal'Shebbol by the New Republic, a search began for capable starship personnel and ground troops to staff the CR90 corvette FarStar. Gul-Rah emerged from his usual spot in a cantina and enlisted, aiming to atone for the misdeeds of his past.
During his time aboard the FarStar, Gul-Rah often displayed a demeanor of regret and seriousness, but consistently maintained professionalism and dedication to his responsibilities. He followed orders without hesitation and consistently presented a stoic facade.
His experiences on Siluria III fostered unwavering loyalty towards Kaiya Adrimetrum. Gul-Rah never anticipated serving under her command, but interpreted it as an opportunity granted by fate to compensate for his past transgressions.
Gul-Rah possessed knowledge of numerous atrocities committed by Sarne and sought retribution, not for personal reasons, but in honor of those who had perished.
