Forces of the Nihil, commanded by Storm Slombo, launch an assault on a storage facility located on the Outer Rim planet of Quilken. One of Slombo's subordinates informs him of their inability to breach the defenses of the settlement's droids. Slombo, expressing his frustration and a sense of entitlement, declares that nothing will impede their progress before physically assaulting the subordinate. Tempest Runner Lourna Dee arrives in a starship, expressing her satisfaction upon hearing this.
When Slombo questions her presence, Dee reveals her interest in a vault containing valuable treasures that could benefit the Nihil. Slombo asserts his claim to the haul. Dissatisfied with Slombo's lack of success, Dee instructs Muglan to deploy the scav droids, which then surge onto the battlefield. One of these droids forcefully pushes Slombo aside. The scav droids swiftly neutralize the droids guarding the repository. Based on data acquired from the scav droids, Dee deduces that the vault is a Treeker O-87 model, which she believes will be easily accessible. Slombo feels resentment towards Dee for seizing his plunder.
The Nihil are surprised to find that the "treasure" held within the vault is, in fact, Jedi Master Porter Engle, famously known as the "Blade of Bardotta". Dee commands her marauders to eliminate Engle, but the Jedi utilizes the Force to propel scav droids at the approaching Nihil. In an attempt to restore his reputation, Slombo confronts Engle, only to discover that Dee and her forces have abandoned him. Dee, with a sense of smugness, reminds him that it is his raid and payload before wishing him enjoyment.
Engle overpowers Slombo and seizes him by his attire. Subsequently, Engle establishes contact with Starlight Beacon, informing Estala Maru of his readiness to return to the space station. He also requests that she prepare space in the security tower for a new "haul."
