Midnight Horizon: The High Republic is a young adult canon novel penned by Daniel José Older. It exists within the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia initiative. Disney–Lucasfilm Press released it on February 1, 2022.
Picture this: It's a couple of centuries before the events chronicled in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, during the High Republic's golden age, where the Jedi serve as the galaxy's protectors of peace and upholders of justice!
Following a string of devastating setbacks, the Republic believes it has finally pushed the nefarious Nihil marauders into retreat, offering a glimmer of hope. However, this optimism is shattered by reports of a suspected Nihil assault on Corellia, a bustling industrial world situated at the heart of the Galactic Core.
Jedi Masters Cohmac Vitus and Kantam Sy are dispatched to investigate, accompanied by their Padawans, Reath Silas and Ram Jomaram. Each of them is grappling with personal struggles in the wake of relentless danger. On Corellia, Reath and Ram cross paths with Crash, a spirited young security expert whose friend fell victim to the Nihil attack. Together, they embark on a mission to infiltrate Corellia's elite circles, while the Masters pursue more conventional diplomatic avenues. Yet, going undercover with Crash proves far more perilous than anticipated, even as Ram enlists his friend Zeen to aid in an elaborate scheme involving a galactic pop sensation.
The revelations they uncover on Corellia ultimately expose a larger scheme, one that threatens to inflict a crushing defeat upon the Jedi Order.
The New York Times best-selling series continues.... For light and life!
