Synopsis from the Publisher

As a follow-up to Star Wars: The Rising Storm, this captivating story plunges the Jedi's world into its most challenging period.

The Nihil, a group of ruthless marauders, have consistently tried to destroy the High Republic's prosperous era. Despite suffering setbacks, the High Republic, with the help of its Jedi protectors, has always emerged triumphant. The Starlight Beacon stands as a magnificent symbol of their dedication.

Positioned like a precious gem in the Outer Rim, the Beacon represents the High Republic at its finest: a center for culture and learning, a guiding light in the face of uncertainty, and an inviting gesture to the galaxy's most distant regions. The Beacon and its staff are prepared to provide sanctuary and care for survivors and refugees fleeing the Nihil's onslaught.

The Jedi Order's Knights and Padawans stationed there finally have an opportunity to heal from their physical wounds and emotional distress. However, the danger they believed was over is still present; they are merely experiencing a temporary lull. Marchion Ro, the true instigator of the Nihil's actions, is planning his most audacious attack yet, with the goal of extinguishing the Jedi's influence.
