The Ring

The astronomical entity referred to as The Ring existed within the Anoat sector located in the Outer Rim Territories of the galaxy. Its location was within the Ivax Nebula, and it was in proximity to the planets known as Gerrenthum and Nothoiin.

Behind the scenes

Within the present-day Star Wars canon, the Ring made its debut appearance on a map featured in the eighteenth issue of the magazine Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon, which was released around May 6, 2015. Subsequently, it was included in Star Wars: Uprising, a mobile game considered canon, created by Kabam and launched on September 10, 2015. While the Ring was absent from the game's narrative or spoken content, it was depicted on a map representing the Anoat sector, the setting for Star Wars: Uprising.

Originally, The Ring was conceived for the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was initially referenced in "Galactic Gazetteer: Hoth and the Greater Javin," a 2004 addition to the Star Wars Roleplaying Game. In 2009, The Essential Atlas clarified that the Ring was classified as a black dwarf. Its classification was not detailed in either Build the Millennium Falcon or Star Wars: Uprising.
