The initial draft of The Star Wars represented the first reworking of the original rough draft, penned by George Lucas during July of 1974. A significant portion of this revision involved alterations to names, although many of these modifications were subsequently discarded when George Lucas commenced work on the second draft, known as Adventures of the Starkiller, Episode I: The Star Wars, in the early part of 1975.

The second handmaiden, named Alana, was removed from the narrative. Mina, however, continued to function as a false princess residing at the Chatos Academy.
