Alana, a Human female, served as one of Princess Leia's handmaidens alongside Mina during the era of the Galactic Civil War. Following the Galactic Empire's invasion of the Aquilaean system, she accompanied her mistress, Annikin Starkiller, along with Artoo and Threepio, back to the clandestine Underground Fortress situated on Aquilae from the Academy of Chatos located at Yuell.
Because of her physical similarity to the young princess, Mina, her fellow handmaiden, stayed behind to act as a diversion.
