Annikin Starkiller, offspring of Kane Starkiller, served as a Padawan Learner under the tutelage of Luke Skywalker, who was a Jedi-Bendu. Furthermore, he became the protector and subsequently, the romantic partner of Leia, the Princess and later Queen of his native world, Aquilae. He achieved renown as the hero of the pivotal battle that led to the Galactic Empire's downfall within the Aquilaean system.
Following the events of the Jedi Rebellion, Annikin, still in his teens, and his sibling Deak Starkiller made their home on the Fourth Moon of Utapau alongside their father, Kane Starkiller. Despite his youth, Annikin participated in the Kessilian civil wars and spearheaded a Hubble expedition to the Cone systems. He was known for sporting a distinctive Kessilian hair knot.
After a Sith Knight discovered their location and tragically murdered Deak, Annikin and Kane journeyed back to their home planet, Aquilae.
He then became a Padawan under Luke Skywalker's guidance, after Kane, his father, disclosed his impending death to Skywalker.
Following his father's passing, he pursued Leia, the Queen of Aquilae, who ruled his home planet, and was bestowed the title of Lord Protector of Aquilae.
Annikin Starkiller originally starred as the central figure in the rough draft for the script that would eventually become A New Hope. He occupied a similar role as Luke Skywalker in A New Hope, though his character's cocky and impulsive nature mirrored Han Solo from A New Hope as well as Anakin Skywalker from Attack of the Clones. Although the second draft lacked a character named Annikin, the third draft designated Annikin as Luke's father, while Return of the Jedi identified Luke's father as Anakin.
In the first draft, Annikin was given a new name: "Justin Valor." During the production of A New Hope, Luke's last name was switched from Starkiller to Skywalker, a Jedi title he had in the second draft.
The identity of Annikin's mother and her ultimate fate remain unknown, with hints suggesting she is deceased.
