The Third Engagement on Vontor (approximately 25,100 BBY) marks the point when the Hutt clans and their assembled forces finally triumphed over the Empire led by Xim the Despot.
For roughly half a decade, the Hutt Empire had been locked in a struggle with Xim's empire, which he had established within the Tion Cluster, each vying for dominance over the Si'Klaata Cluster. Prior to this decisive conflict, two prior engagements had occurred above Vontor, but neither had resulted in a clear victor.
During this third and ultimately decisive battle, the Hutt forces received reinforcements in the form of Klatooinian, Vodran, Nikto, and Weequay soldiers of fortune. Kossak strategically positioned his fleet near Vontor, while Xim dispatched his ground forces to the planet's surface using massive transport vessels. Unexpectedly, they were met by the millions of Klatooinians, Nikto, Weequays and Vodrans awaiting their arrival. Despite possessing superior technology compared to the Hutts, Xim's military proved unable to overcome the new allies of Kossak the Hutt. While Xim directed his warships against Kossak's fleet, the Vodrans, along with their new allies, systematically destroyed the majority of Xim's war-robots and proceeded to demolish Xim's orbital platforms through aerial bombardment. With the exception of a few vessels that managed to escape with the remaining war robots, Xim's fleet was annihilated in orbit. Although Xim was officially reported as killed during the battle, the reality was that he was captured and met his end as a slave within Kossak's palace on Varl. However, his treasure-laden vessel, known as the Queen of Ranroon, successfully fled to the planet Dellalt, where it remained concealed for thousands of years.
Following the conclusion of the battle, the Treaty of Vontor was formalized, with the Hutts, Klatooinians, Vodrans, and Nikto as signatories. This agreement established the Hutts as the perpetual rulers over the other three species and granted them control of the Si'Klaata Cluster.
The Third Battle of Vontor served as the basis for Xim at Vontor, a holoplay penned by Peshosloc sometime between 15,762 BBY and 15,609 BBY.
It also received a mention in Evocar, a theatrical work created by the Hutt dramatist Direus'pei at some point between 920 BBY and 671 BBY.
In 22 BBY, the Cradle of the Galaxy exhibition featured holographic projections of the Third Battle of Vontor, designed to provide visitors with a fully immersive experience.
During 0 ABY, Guttu the Hutt possessed a woven wall hanging depicting the battle.
