Thracia Cho Leem, a Human female, achieved the rank of Jedi Master within the Jedi Order during the later years of the Republic Era. Although she sometimes disagreed with the decisions made by the Jedi High Council, Master Leem maintained a positive working relationship with Councilor Mace Windu. She guided numerous Padawans to the rank of Knighthood, notably including the Fosh Jedi Vergere.
In the time leading up to the Republic's decline, Thracia Cho Leem held the esteemed position of Jedi Master. Despite not conforming to typical Jedi behavior, she garnered respect and admiration from the Jedi Council. Her training focused on the path of a Jedi Consular, and she gained particular fame for her exceptional healing skills.
Leem chose to live among the citizens of the Republic, only returning to the Jedi Temple to present her Padawans to the Council. During her travels, she defied the Jedi Code's prohibition against attachments by marrying multiple times and fathering numerous children across the galaxy. Despite the Council's awareness of these relationships, she was permitted to remain a Jedi Master.
During her time in the Order, Master Leem mentored several Padawans, with a majority of them being female. Among them, the Fosh Jedi Vergere stood out as particularly exceptional. From the moment Vergere hatched, Leem took her as an apprentice and guided her to the rank of Knight. Vergere proved to be a highly skilled Jedi and embarked on a mission to the living planet Zonama Sekot in 30 BBY to investigate a reported attack. Despite her confidence in Vergere's ability to handle herself, Leem expressed concerns about Vergere's whereabouts after a year without contact.
While there, she crossed paths with Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi and his young Padawan, Anakin Skywalker. Skywalker was on the verge of being dismissed from the Order due to a dangerous Garbage pit race in Galactic City. Leem stepped in and helped the Council recognize that Skywalker needed a mission to truly discover his purpose. She suggested that Kenobi be sent to Zonama Sekot to investigate, which would allow Skywalker to accompany him, a prospect Kenobi was initially unenthusiastic about.
Upon their return to Coruscant, they concluded that beings known as the Far Outsiders had abducted Vergere and that she was beyond the Order's reach. Leem then dedicated herself to counseling and healing Skywalker from his traumatic experience on the planet. Within a few months, Leem departed from the Order without providing any explanation. According to The Great Holocron, Leem was not considered one of the Lost Twenty, despite holding the rank of Master at the time of her departure.
Thracia Cho Leem was a female human characterized by her short gray hair, a prominent aquiline nose, and large, ultramarine eyes. She was of short and slender build, standing at approximately 1.35 meters, about the same height as a 12-year-old Anakin Skywalker.
As a Jedi, she exhibited a somewhat unconventional preference for life outside the Jedi Temple. She rarely visited Coruscant, opting instead to reside on numerous agricultural worlds located in the Mid Rim and Outer Rim. She served as a constant reminder to the Jedi Council that understanding the people is essential to serving them effectively.
She possessed a snarky and quick-witted demeanor, often criticizing the Council and their teaching methods. Upon encountering the Council lecturing young Skywalker, she accused them of "ganging up on the boy" and "terrifying him." She was adept at conveying her points to the Council through sarcastic and cutting remarks. Leem was among the select few who could match wits with Mace Windu, a fact he was well aware of.
