Tibidee

Tibidees were colossal species of silicon-based beings that originated on Stygeon Prime. Despite their origin, they also inhabited other mountainous planets within the Outer Rim, for instance, Oosalon.

Biology and appearance

These creatures possessed the ability to fly with elegance, employing both their expansive, flat wings and internal sacs filled with gas. They featured green eyes and elongated tails, and their mating vocalizations bore a resemblance to certain communication frequencies, occasionally drawing them in. Their sharp eyesight allowed them to spot potential dangers from great distances. They shared a distant lineage with neebrays and mynocks, both known for being troublesome to starships.

Behavior

Typically peaceful in nature, tibidees would nonetheless engage in aggressive behavior against anything perceived as a threat, even stormtroopers.

History

A squadron of tibidees mistook the jamming signal emitted by the Phantom, an assault shuttle, for a mating call, leading them to launch an assault.

Behind the scenes

The concept of tibidees emerged during the production of "Rise of the Old Masters," which served as the fifth installment of _Star Wars Rebels' first season. The designation "tibidee" stemmed from the creature's initial lack of a proper name, resulting in the temporary label "TBD," short for "to be determined." Subsequently, "TBD" evolved into the name tibidee.
