Tierfon Rebel Outpost
Tierfon Rebel Outpost, alternatively known as the Tierfon Rebel Base, existed as one of the countless minor installations under the control of the Alliance to Restore the Republic. The Tierfon Yellow Aces squadron operated from the location of Tierfon. To ensure that the pilots remained adequately rested despite continuous mission deployments, the base housed a complement of one hundred fifty-eight personnel.
The base's hangar provided sufficient space for eight starfighters, typically X-wings, along with a light freighter such as a YT-1300 transport, and several airspeeders for use on the surface of the planet.
Due to the sector not being heavily patrolled by the Imperial Navy, should the Galactic Empire discover the base, it could be quickly evacuated and left behind, because reinforcements would take at least two weeks to arrive.
Among the notable pilots stationed at Tierfon were Wes Janson and Jek Tono Porkins, both celebrated figures of the Galactic Civil War and members of Red Squadron. Tomer Darpen and Kissek Doran, the father of Kell Tainer, also served as pilots within the Tierfon Yellow Squadron. Conversely, N'dru Suhlak, despite his skills as a pilot, was expelled from the base due to his repeated acts of defiance. Veedo Vaocan, an uncommon Rodian who embraced pacifism, held the position of chief surgeon.
History

Following the destruction of Alderaan and the realization of the true danger posed by the first Death Star, Tierfon was elevated to "full active" status. However, the fighter strength at the base was significantly reduced, as other more vulnerable bases needed more fighter support, such as Yavin Base.
Prior to his assignment to Yavin Base, General Jan Dodonna presented Janson with the rank of True Gunner at an awards ceremony held at the base, in recognition of his outstanding performance.
At Tierfon Rebel Outpost, the Alliance utilized electrotelescopes as a preliminary warning system. These passive sensors could be deployed without revealing the outpost's location, as they only detected incoming light and energy emissions.
The base saw continuous use throughout the duration of the Galactic Civil War, and it continued to be used for many years after, during the era of the New Republic.
