Tilin, the offspring of Tikin, was a youthful Quarren of the male gender. In the year 138 ABY, both the parent and his son were deceived and brought to the Mon Calamari Orbital Shipyards with the false promise of a revitalized Dac. Contrary to this promise, they were enslaved by a group of pirates, under the command of the Sith Lord known as Darth Luft. This Sith Lord compelled them, along with other displaced individuals, to construct a fleet. Tilin's captivity served as leverage to ensure Tikin's obedience, and Tikin was afraid to do anything that might jeopardize the boy's well-being. Ania Solo and Jao Assam found out about the operation and wanted to liberate the beings held there, but Tikin, hoping to protect Tilin, betrayed their presence to Darth Luft. This act resulted in Luft killing Tikin, which ignited a rebellion among the forcibly recruited workers. With assistance from Admiral Gar Stazi and the Imperial Knights, the pirates were ultimately defeated, resulting in the liberation of the Quarrens and the Mon Calamari. Luen, a Mon Calamari who knew Tikin's father, chose to take in the orphaned Tilin. They remained in the Shipyards, which had been partially submerged during the uprising, as part of Stazi's strategy.
