Timeline 6: Onslaught of the Sith Empire represents the sixth installment of in-universe video presentations, which furnish the narrative background for the video game Star Wars: The Old Republic. This video takes the form of an archival entry, logged within the Jedi Archives by the Jedi Master known as Gnost-Dural.
Within the Jedi Archive, a newly discovered holorecord recounts the Sith Empire's unexpected offensive, marking the commencement of the Great War, a period more than 28 years prior to the Sack of Coruscant. Master Gnost-Dural highlights the strategic genius of the Imperial military's meticulously planned attack, which placed the Republic in an unfavorable position throughout the entire war.
28 years Before the Treaty of Coruscant (BTC 28) – After centuries spent in exile, the Sith Empire emerged from the depths of space, initiating what would become the most deliberately calculated military campaign ever faced by the Republic. The Sith Empire unveiled its attack in a terrifying display of power, instilling fear in the Republic's forces. Simultaneously, they launched a series of surprise attacks on carefully selected targets across the galaxy. As the Republic's fleet mobilized to counter this threat, they uncovered that the Sith had installed puppet regimes on numerous planets located in the Outer Rim. Besieged by adversaries and internal betrayals, the Republic's naval forces were compelled to disperse, enabling the Sith Empire to seize control of the majority of the Outer Rim without encountering significant resistance. These initial successes by the Empire created an imbalance of power, placing the Republic at a disadvantage throughout the entirety of the Great War.
