Tom Dupree

Tom Dupree, known as "Mississippi," served as the line editor for Star Wars novels at Bantam Spectra throughout the 1990s. His responsibility was the management of the X-Wing novel series. Following Michael A. Stackpole's inability to proceed with his contributions to the series, Dupree suggested Aaron Allston as a replacement author. Before the agreement was completed, he departed Bantam, and Pat LoBrutto succeeded him, proceeding with negotiations to ensure Allston's continued involvement.

The character names "Dupas Thomree" and "Ree Duptom" are humorous allusions referencing him.
