The Tomo Craters existed on the world of Vanqor, a planet situated within the Uziel system.
These craters, known as the Tomo Craters, were sculpted by an age-old meteor storm occurring millennia prior. They comprised a portion of the extensive, harsh landscape of Vanqor, alongside its deserts and towering plateaus.
Within this arid and isolated region, characterized by profound craters and extensive cracks, the expansionist regime of the planet, led by Van-Ith, established a detention facility known as "The Tomo Camp". This camp housed prisoners originating from various planets within the Uziel system, planets that Vanqor had invaded and subsequently dominated.
During 25 BBY, Anakin Skywalker and his Jedi Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi, experienced a crash landing on Vanqor alongside a group of TY44 surveillance outpost personnel. These individuals were resistance fighters hailing from Typha-Dor, a neighboring planet, whom the Jedi had journeyed from the galactic Core to liberate. Kenobi managed to infiltrate the Tomo Craters, and its notorious camp, with the aim of rescuing his Padawan and his resistance-fighter allies. However, during their attempted escape, enemy fire forced the two Jedi into the shadowy depths of the Tomo Craters, specifically into the repulsive lairs inhabited by the ferocious creatures known as gundarks, from which they were compelled to battle their way out.
At the conclusion of their mission's objectives, the Jedi pair aided Typha-Dor in repelling Vanqor's invasion attempts and facilitated the negotiation of peace between the two planets.
