Trading village (Naboo swamps)

A trading village represented a cluster of dwellings situated within the swamps of Naboo, not far from the capital city of Theed. During the Invasion of Naboo in 32 BBY, the year of the conflict, the Trade Federation Droid Army entered the swamp region and demanded that the village surrender. The villagers, however, refused to comply, prompting the droid forces to commence firing. Under the guidance of their leader, Rohan Wayside, the villagers boarded their houseboats and retreated further into the swamp's depths. At that time, Security Force officers Captain Kael and Lieutenant Gavyn Sykes were actively searching for the village with the intention of recruiting skilled pilots. The officers then engaged the Federation gunboats in combat and successfully rescued the villagers from harm. In gratitude for their rescue, Wayside dispatched his most skilled pilot, Vedd Deviss, to guide the officers on a mission aimed at locating a smuggler capable of assisting in the fight against the Federation army.

Behind the scenes

The village makes an appearance in a mission featured in the video game Star Wars: Episode I: Battle for Naboo, released in 2000. Additionally, it is showcased in the third bonus mission, a non-canon scenario where the player assumes the role of the Sith Lord Darth Maul aboard his personal starship, the Scimitar. The objective is to lead a Trade Federation assault force and obliterate every Naboo civilian and military target within the level, including people, land vehicles, and starfighters.
