Trigon One, a satellite armed to the teeth, was built by the Fromm Gang during the early years of the Galactic Empire.
The Fromm Gang, locked in intense competition with other powerful gangs, sought an edge over their rivals. Despite the fact that Sise Fromm, the leader of the Fromms, was wary of technology, his son, Tig Fromm, convinced his father to invest in building a mighty superweapon that they could use to force the other gangs to submit.

Tig Fromm was put in charge of building Trigon One. Although Sise was worried that the vessel appeared small, Tig asserted that, at its highest power, Trigon One could destroy a planet (although this capability was never actually shown).
As Trigon One neared its completion, Demma Moll, who was the leader of the resistance cell on the Fromm's home planet of Annoo, discovered Trigon One and dispatched her daughter, Kea, on a mission to find Tig's base on Ingo and destroy the vessel before it could be launched.
Thall Joben and Jord Dusat, two inhabitants of Ingo, along with their droids, R2-D2 and C-3PO, happened to be traveling near Tig's base while racing their speeders. Fearing that they might have seen something, Tig sent sentry droids to attack them. Kea helped them escape and told them about her plan. Joben and Dusat agreed to assist Kea in her mission.
The group managed to infiltrate the secret base and steal Trigon One. Joben hid the weapons satellite in a forest on Ingo, but when Sise Fromm kidnapped Dusat and Demma, he agreed to reveal its location in return for their release. When Tig Fromm went to recover Trigon One, Joben and R2-D2 had already tampered with the guidance system, causing the ship to crash into and destroy Sise Fromm's base on Annoo.
