Tubleek Ruz, a bounty hunter of the Kubaz species, was active during the Galactic Empire's reign of the time. In the year 3 ABY, this Kubaz partnered with the renegade archaeologist Chelli Aphra on a mission. Their objective was to pilfer seized Rebel Alliance goods from the Galactic Empire which were located at Echo Base on the planet Hoth. Aphra, masquerading as an Imperial officer, piloted the transport filled with the stolen goods to a prearranged location. At this location, Ruz and a Wookiee bounty hunter lay in wait to ambush the snowtroopers guarding the transport. When Aphra commented on their tardiness, Ruz turned on her, threatening to collect the bounty on her head by handing her over. Anticipating this double-cross, Aphra had Just Lucky, another member of their crew, eliminate Ruz from a concealed position nearby.
