Tuskbeast

Tuskbeasts were a species of non-sentient creatures that originated on the planet of Kintan. The Nikto people considered them dangerous and ultimately caused their extinction.

Biology and appearance

These animals, known as Tuskbeasts, were a non-sentient species that had gray-colored eyes. They could grow to an enormous size.

History

The tuskbeast species was originally from the planet Kintan, which is located within the Kintan system of the Si'Klaata Cluster found in Hutt Space. The evolution of this species was the result of mutations that transpired over thousands of years. These mutations came about due to a significant amount of radiation that was emitted from M'dweshuu, a star at the center of the Si'Klaata cluster, when it went nova. Because the Nikto, a sentient species also native to Kintan, viewed them as terrifying monsters and a threat, they were driven to extinction by these sentients. The Nikto utilized Tuskbeast pikes as weapons, which they crafted from the ivory and bone taken from the tuskbeasts they killed.

Behind the scenes

The first mention of Tuskbeasts occurred in Galaxy Guide 12: Aliens — Enemies and Allies, a 1995 sourcebook released as part of the Galaxy Guide series for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game published by West End Games. Pablo Hidalgo mentioned the species in the Nikto species entry. Later, they were mentioned in Geonosis and the Outer Rim Worlds, a supplement book for the Star Wars Roleplaying Game by Wizards of the Coast in 2004, authored by multiple individuals.
