Tyanna Tymb

Tyanna Tymb held the position of Top OpEx within the SoroSuub Corporation's Varada sector holdings, representing the Sullustan species.

Physical Description

Her face, characterized by pallor and pronounced jowls, conveyed an aura of cold calculation, cunning, and exceptional intelligence. Her small, mouse-like ears were positioned attentively on her head, widely spaced to capture every sound and subtle nuance of conversation. Her large, intense eyes possessed an inner fire, and her piercing gaze was known to intimidate even a Barabel into submission.

Character Traits

Her approach to corporate endeavors was defined by a ruthless, no-nonsense, business-is-war mentality. This earned her various unflattering yet accurate nicknames among her subordinates, such as the Dark Lady, Tyanna the Tyrant, and Tymb the Despot, which were used when they believed she was out of earshot. Anyone who dared to utter these names to her face would quickly experience the full extent of her wrath, which made her feared across the seven systems of the Varada sector. In public, she preferred her official title of Top OpEx Tymb, although she privately enjoyed being referred to as the Dark Lady.

Despite her cutthroat business tactics and fierce negotiation style, she possessed some redeeming qualities. She consistently rewarded her loyal assistants generously and made efforts to improve the appalling personnel policies of SoroSuub.

History

Tyanna rapidly progressed through the SoroSuub Business Academy, graduating at the top of her class with a promising future. Early on, she displayed qualities that would mark her as a formidable force in the corporate world: She employed every underhanded tactic and intimidation strategy outlined in the SoroSuub datajournal to undermine and eliminate potential competitors among her fellow students, ensuring that her actions remained within legal boundaries and were deemed fair by the Academy's administration.

However, one student proved to be a persistent rival, haunting the Sullustan throughout her academic career. They remained neck and neck as they approached the final graduation tests, leaving the outcome uncertain. What Tyanna found particularly galling was that her opponent, Alara Fax, was not a Sullustan but a Human. Losing to a Human in the realm of Sullustan business would be a significant humiliation in her eyes. Instead of relying on her usual methods, which had failed to overcome Fax, Tyanna befriended her and gathered as much information as possible about the Human, waiting for the opportune moment to strike before the Academy term ended.

She discovered Alara's one significant weakness: Despite her exceptional ability to negotiate complex deals, she struggled to grasp the intricacies of the Sullustan "marketing tri-icosahedra" theory, regardless of her efforts to study the textdocs. Tyanna, feigning a desire to help, offered Alara a data card study aid shortly before the final test. However, the card's programming contained the actual answers to the test questions. When the exam began, the hidden programming activated, and the answers began scrolling across the data pad. Alara was caught supposedly cheating and expelled from the Academy on the eve of her graduation, effectively removing Tyanna's main competitor from the field.

Following her graduation, Tyanna continued to rise through the ranks rapidly. As a junior executive, she quickly secured major deals for SoroSuub, generating substantial credits almost immediately. It wasn't long before the home office decided to deploy her in the field. In 2 ABY, during the height of the Galactic Civil War, she was appointed to the Top OpEx position to oversee SoroSuub's operations in the Varada system.

While her subordinates aligned themselves with the New Republic, Tyanna had always favored the methods and extensive resources of the Empire. She continued to conduct trade with the remnants of the Empire after the Battle of Endor, albeit in a more discreet manner. She maintained close relationships with Moff Poliff of the Tunka sector and Captain Fessix of the Star Destroyer Discord. She regularly provided these individuals with intelligence concerning her Republic customers.

In 4 ABY, a rival from her past, Alara Fax, resurfaced to challenge her. When Tyanna acquired the resource and trade rights to the seventh system in the Varada sector, she discovered that one planet and the adjacent asteroid field were already under contract to Fax's company, Fax Ventures. Driven by a desire for completeness and to once again defeat her rival, Tyanna sought to control the corporate rights to the entire system, regardless of the rich deposits of Aluminite and Corax Ore awaiting extraction from the asteroids or the lush jungles of Bestal Three ripe for exploitation. Her goal was to take away Alara's new acquisition, regardless of the means required. She immediately initiated the scanning of textdocs and dispatched spies to infiltrate Alara's headquarters, although the success of these efforts remains unknown.
