UK2-B

A droid named UK2-B operated during the time of the New Republic Era. In the year 9 ABY, this droid escorted a pair of Gamorrean guards through the corridors of Boba Fett's palace, bringing them before the newly established crime lord. It attentively observed as Fett made the decision to spare the lives of these prisoners. UK2-B's exterior consisted of brown and grey panels, and it possessed a red sensor.

Behind the scenes

UK2-B made its debut appearance in The Book of Boba Fett's first episode on December 29, 2021. Chris Bartlett received credit for portraying UK2-B in that episode, although the specific character he played was initially unclear. The episode also showcased another droid, 8D8, whose voice was provided by Matt Berry. Due to this, some fans as well as online news sources mistakenly believed that Berry was the voice of UK2-B. Pablo Hidalgo, a member of the Lucasfilm Story Group, stepped in to clarify Bartlett's character's identity via a post on Twitter.

The costume that Bartlett wore for The Book of Boba Fett was originally created for the 2016 anthology film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. It was featured in scenes that took place on the planet Jedha. In that version, the droid's legs were designed differently, which meant that the performer had to use stilts to properly embody the character. Hidalgo described this earlier droid as being of a "similar model" as UK2-B.
