Umwak's nephew

A male Dulok was a member of the tribe that was led by King Gorneesh, and he was also a nephew of the tribe's shaman, Umwak. Back in 3 ABY, while the Dulok was still just a boy, he went with his uncle on a mission for Gorneesh. Umwak and his nephew received instructions to stall a group of young Ewoks who were trying to restore their sacred Tree of Light using Light Dust; the Duloks were hoping this delay would give Gorneesh and his crew a chance to get to the weakened tree first and pull it up by its roots. Umwak's nephew showed himself to be a smart and sharp boy during the mission, but he couldn't stop his uncle from messing things up with his clumsiness, no matter how hard he tried.

In the end, the boy and his uncle tracked the Ewoks into the Arbo Maze, a dense cluster of trees. It was there that a fight with a couple of Ewoks ended with the Duloks caught in their own net, which had been doused in gooey ganga sap. Even though they couldn't get themselves out of the net, the young Dulok and his older relative struggled to the Tree of Light to warn Gorneesh that the Ewoks were on their way. But they were too late—the Ewoks they had been bothering had already revived the tree, and the Duloks, who couldn't handle the light, were running back to the dark swamp.

Biography

A maze-ing

In a skirmish in the Arbo Maze, Umwak's nephew attacked a pair of Ewoks with a ganga-sap net.

A male Dulok was part of Gorneesh's tribe of Duloks, who made their home in the Dulok Swamp on the Forest Moon of Endor. The tribe's shaman, Umwak, was his uncle. In 3 ABY, King Gorneesh found out that the Tree of Light, which was sacred to his enemies, the Ewoks, was getting weak and needed its yearly boost from Ewok Light Dust. So, Gorneesh told Umwak to find the Ewok group that had been sent to take care of the tree. This delay would give Gorneesh and his warriors the chance to get to the failing tree first and destroy it. Umwak chose to bring his young nephew along to help out.

The young Dulok and his uncle made their way through the forest, following the group of young Ewoks to the entrance of the Arbo Maze, an area of the forest that was so thick that the trees grew together, creating winding paths. When Umwak suggested that he and his nephew should go into the maze, sneak past the Ewoks, and set a trap for them, his nephew pointed out that they had no way to get through the maze without getting lost. Umwak then showed off his special glasses, a pair of spectacles that he had invented himself and claimed would guide them through the maze. Even though the young Dulok thought the glasses were useless, he followed his uncle into the maze, carrying the bag that held Umwak's trap.

A sticky situation

The young Dulok dutifully takes orders from his uncle, Umwak.

The shaman's nephew tried to guide his uncle safely through the maze's obstacles—it seemed that Umwak couldn't see anything with his special glasses—but he couldn't stop the shaman from running into a rock and breaking the goggles. Umwak scolded his nephew for the accident but then told the boy to open the bag, revealing a net covered in super-sticky ganga sap. When Umwak said that the sap's stickiness would make it the perfect trap for the Ewoks, his nephew asked how they could keep it from sticking to them instead. Umwak just said that it was the boy's problem and told him to carry the net.

After some time, Umwak and his nephew bumped into two young Ewoks—Kneesaa a Jari Kintaka and Latara. Umwak ordered his nephew to chase them, and the boy reluctantly did. During the fight that followed, the Ewok Kneesaa tricked her opponents into running into each other, trapping them both in the ganga sap net. The Ewoks ran off, leaving the Duloks in the maze.

Despite their situation, the young Dulok and his uncle stumbled toward the Tree of Light, still tangled in the net, to warn King Gorneesh that the Ewoks were coming. But by the time they got close to the tree, the Dulok relatives were met by a crowd of their tribe members running away; the Ewoks had restored the tree, and its light was forcing the Duloks back to the swamps.

Personality and traits

Umwak's nephew had green fur, a gray mask on his face, brown eyebrows, and pink eyes. The young Dulok followed his uncle Umwak's orders without question, doing the shaman's hard work, like carrying a heavy bag around. But he wasn't afraid to point out the flaws in his uncle's plans. Even though Umwak was always scolding him, the boy cared about his uncle and tried to keep him out of trouble. And even though his tribe hated the Ewoks, the young Dulok seemed hesitant to fight his supposed enemies. He was sneaky, able to follow a group of Ewoks without them noticing.
