Ung Kusp

Ung Kusp was a male Mandalorian mercenary, a leader who commanded a Mandalorian clan long before the era of the Clone Wars.

Biography

In the aftermath of the Mandalorian Wars, Ung Kusp operated as a Mandalorian mercenary, driven solely by the acquisition of credits and disregarding principles of justice, morality, or honor. This lack of honor caused a rift with Master Jaing, a former Mandalorian Neo-Crusader who adhered to the Canons of Honor, and who considered Kusp his primary adversary. Jaing departed Ung Kusp's clan, leading Kusp's loyalists to accuse Jaing of betrayal, while Jaing insisted that Kusp was the one who had betrayed their shared values.

Centuries prior to the Clone Wars, Ung Kusp's clan accepted a commission to retrieve a valuable Sith artifact that had been stolen by a cyberneticist. A contingent of mercenaries was dispatched to the cyberneticist's facility, located in an Outer Rim industrial wasteland. Upon forcing entry into the facility, Kusp's Mandalorians were confronted by Jaing, his protegé Durge, and Nubyl, all of whom had been cybernetically enhanced by their target. Despite the defenders' efforts, who felled many Mandalorians, the three were ultimately defeated by the detonation of a thermal detonator. After recovering the artifact, a Mandalorian taunted the wounded Jaing about his adherence to honor and threatened to display his head as a trophy for Kusp. However, Jaing surprised the Mandalorian, and both inflicted fatal wounds upon each other. Jaing's demise spurred Durge to retaliate with a massacre of Ung Kusp's forces, after which he departed for Mandalore, vowing vengeance against all Mandalorians. Unbeknownst to them, the attack had been engineered by the cyberneticist as part of a scheme to instigate a conflict between the Mandalorians and the Sith.
