An Alderaanian philosopher is credited with the saying, "joy drives out fear." Princess Leia Organa was familiar with this sentiment and, on one occasion, shared it with Kier Domadi in the year 3 BBY.
Originally, in the initial printing of Leia, Princess of Alderaan, the philosopher's words were, "strength through joy." However, this particular phrasing was noted to have been coincidentally employed as a slogan by Nazi Germany. Claudia Gray, the book's author, issued an apology upon learning of this connection, stating that she was unaware of the phrase's historical context when she included it in the novel. Subsequent versions of the book replaced the phrase with "joy drives out fear."
