On Ruusan during 5 ABY, a Bouncer held the position of chieftain for a collective of his species.
Around 2 BBY, he was among the Bouncers who encountered Morgan Katarn in orbit above Olmondo. Recognizing him as a Jedi Knight, he shared knowledge of the Poem of Ages and guided him toward the Valley of the Jedi.
By the time 5 ABY rolled around, this particular Bouncer had risen to the rank of leader within his group. One evening, as they convened in a craggy locale, they found themselves under assault by a military group from the Galactic Empire, who were hunting for Ruusan's hidden truths. The Bouncers, being unarmed, were in a vulnerable position. Fortunately, a group of colonists, who were there to meet with them, intervened, resulting in a colonist's death.
Once all the Stormtroopers were subdued and the Bouncers had restrained the final one, the colonists made a request for assistance: Kyle Katarn, Morgan's offspring and a Rebel agent, needed to get to the Valley of the Jedi before the Dark Jedi named Jerec, who had invaded the planet. The Bouncers engaged in a brief deliberation. Their leader pointed out that they had already "helped" by inadvertently causing the deaths of two of the humans and could not risk such a hazardous journey, but allowed one of them to accompany them. He assured Kyle that they would remain hidden and safe. They exchanged condolences for the colonist's death. The leader offered no encouragement for Kyle's mission, instead reciting verses from the Poem of Ages, suggesting its fulfillment was inevitable.
The Bouncer leader makes his initial appearance in the Dark Forces: Jedi Knight novella. His gender remains unspecified. The narrative hints at his presence during the events of the first chapter of Dark Forces: Rebel Agent and its audio adaptation, where Morgan Katarn encounters the Bouncers, but his precise role, and whether he was the one who spoke with Morgan, is ambiguous.
In the audio adaptation of Jedi Knight, Christopher Bloch is credited as the "Bouncer" who converses with Kyle, though the dialogue doesn't identify him as the leader. As with all Bouncers in both audio adaptations, this Bouncer communicates with an ethereal voice, rather than through writing as depicted in the novellas. Furthermore, in the audio adaptation, it is Floater who delivers the lines from the Poem of Ages.
