Unidentified bounty hunter (Lothal)

A bounty hunter, who was male, operated on Lothal in the period roughly four to five years preceding the Battle of Yavin. As retribution for Merei Spanjaf's actions, Yahenna Laxo, who led the Gray Syndicate, sold the aged poet Holshef to this bounty hunter. After Laxo was killed by the forces of the Galactic Empire, Spanjaf attempted to smuggle Holshef off-world; however, first he was forced to confront the bounty hunter, who was now pursuing both of them. They managed to evade him when a paper containing Holshef's poetry was caught by the wind and obscured the bounty hunter's vision, causing him to collide with a droid truck, resulting in an explosion.

Behind the scenes

Originally, the plan was for this bounty hunter to have a significantly more substantial presence in the Servants of the Empire narrative. Jason Fry, the author, mentioned on his official Tumblr blog that Merei Spanjaf was intended to engage in a "cat and mouse" game with the bounty hunter. This narrative element was ultimately removed to streamline the story, as there wasn't sufficient space for an additional subplot, resulting in the bounty hunter's role being reduced to a brief appearance.
