The embalmed and alchemically sustained corpse of this Dark Lord was discovered inside the Hall of Judgment within the Great Temple situated in the Valley of the Dark Lords located on the planet of Korriban.
A Force-sensitive being once held the title of Dark Lord of the Sith within the Sith Empire. The dead form of this Dark Lord, miraculously untouched by the passage of time, was conserved through the use of Sith alchemy inside the Hall of Judgment inside the Great Temple at the Valley of the Dark Lords on the planet Korriban.

Following the demise of both the Dark Lord of the Sith and the Galactic Emperor Darth Sidious aboard the Death Star II, this ancient Dark Lord, alongside at least three other deceased Sith spirits, gave assistance to Palpatine as he escaped from Chaos and returned to the plane of the living, inhabiting a clone body.
In 11 ABY, the resurrected Darth Sidious made a pilgrimage to the Great Temple, seeking wisdom from the spirits of his Sith predecessors in an attempt to revitalize his deteriorating clone body. As they traversed the ancient Sith crypt, T'iaz, a Dark Side Adept, sensed the potent dark side energy emanating from the location. Sidious elucidated that these ancient Dark Lords had been preserved through Sith alchemy, rendering them outcasts. The Dark Lord expressed doubt in his success and presented Vader's tomb to him, but Sidious refused, instead demanding to be healed. The spirit suggested Palpatine to gaze into the oracle stone, where Palpatine learned that the only way for him to survive would to to transfer his spirit into Anakin Solo, the newborn son of Princess Leia Organa Solo. The other spirits offered their counsel to Sidious and then bid him a final farewell.
The Dark Lord of the Sith was armored in dark plates and wore a helmet. They held an oracle stone in their hands.
This unnamed Dark Lord made their initial appearance in the 1995 comic book Empire's End 2, penned by Tom Veitch and illustrated by Jim Baikie. The character was identified as one of the "Dark Lords of ages past" in the Empire's End audio drama, which featured four distinct voices along with several background voices.
The article The Emperor's Pawns, published in 2001's Star Wars Gamer 5 and authored by Abel G. Peña and Juan Schwartz, expanded on Palpatine's visit to Korriban shortly after the Battle of Yavin mentioned in Empire's End 2. It is said that he "enraged the mummified Sith by demanding dark side knowledge." Whether the mummified Sith in question are the same Dark Lords present in the Great Temple from Empire's End 2 remains unclear.

Within the comic, Palpatine states that the mummified ancients were exiled for their practice of alchemy, indicating a possible affiliation with the Dark Jedi Exiles. This claim finds support in the 1994 comic book Tales of the Jedi – Dark Lords of the Sith 1, where Vodo-Siosk Baas mentions that the mummified remains of the Exiles were preserved forever on Korriban. The 1994 comic book Tales of the Jedi – Dark Lords of the Sith 3 depicts possibly at least fourteen thrones in the Great Temple on Korriban, contradicting the twelve Dark Jedi established by the 2012 reference book Book of Sith: Secrets from the Dark Side. This article makes no connection between the Dark Lord and the Exiles.
