In the year 3 BBY, amidst the early rebellion targeting the Galactic Empire, a collection of droids gained their freedom from a scrap pile situated on a certain planetoid. Prompted by Chopper, the C1-series astromech droid responsible for their liberation, these droids established a group with the purpose of aiding other droids facing peril. While the group desired Chopper to be their leader, they honored his choice to remain with the Spectres.
This group consisted of a diverse assortment of droids, encompassing protocol droids, astromech droids, and, notably, a single B2-series super battle droid.
