A duchess of Malastare, a planet situated in the Mid Rim, was a female whose father engaged in several brutal conflicts, and whose daughter ultimately embraced the ways of the Dark Jedi. When Jedi Padawan Qui-Gon Jinn commenced his examination of the holocron of prophecy in 67 BBY, the Jedi Order regarded this duchess as being of advanced age. During that year, Jinn reflected upon the duchess's family and pondered if they may have satisfied an old Jedi prophecy concerning a woman who was born into darkness and subsequently brought it into the world.
Claudia Gray's 2019 novel, Master & Apprentice, featured a flashback that included a reference to the duchess.
