A group, or tribe, of Ewoks lived in a village positioned in close proximity to the future location of the second Death Star's shield generator bunker. After one hunting trip, the Ewok Romba returned to discover that the Galactic Empire had destroyed his village by fire, resulting in the death of all of his fellow tribesman. Subsequently, Romba became a member of the Bright Tree tribe, which was under the leadership of Chief Chirpa. Shortly preceding the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY, Romba shared his tragic story with the Bright Tree tribe, which influenced their decision to provide aid to the Endor strike team.
