Endor strike team

During the time of the Galactic Civil War, the specially assigned Endor strike team, under the leadership of General Han Solo, was tasked with a critical mission: to journey to the forest moon of Endor and destroy the shield generator. This generator was vital to the protection of the Galactic Empire's second Death Star.

History

Han Solo leads the team from their landing site.

Major Lokmarcha was initially slated to command the team, but his death during Operation Yellow Moon changed those plans. Following the rescue of Captain Han Solo from the clutches of Jabba the Hutt on Tatooine, the Rebel Alliance promoted Solo to the rank of general, thus making him Lokmarcha's replacement as the team's commander. After a strategic briefing on Home One, Chewbacca, Princess Leia Organa, and Commander Luke Skywalker joined the strike team. The team also included twelve Pathfinder commandos, among them were Nik Sant, Kes Dameron, and Tuck Tyrell. Lieutenant Caluan Ematt and Rex were also part of the group, alongside the droids R2-D2 and C-3PO.

The strike team utilized the stolen Imperial shuttle Tydirium to reach the forest moon. Upon landing, the team became divided when Solo was inadvertently spotted by some scout troopers. These troopers fled on Speeder bikes to summon reinforcements, prompting Skywalker and Organa to pursue them. During the chase, Organa became separated from Skywalker and was discovered by an Ewok named Wicket Wystri Warrick, who escorted her to his tribe's village, Bright Tree Village. Skywalker rejoined Solo, Chewbacca, and the droids, who were searching for Organa and had also become separated from the larger group. The Rebels were soon captured by the same Ewok tribe that had found Leia. Mistaking C-3PO for a deity, the Ewoks bound Skywalker, Solo, Chewbacca, and R2-D2, intending to offer them as a sacrificial meal in C-3PO's honor. However, after Skywalker demonstrated his abilities with The Force, the Ewoks released the Rebels and pledged to assist them in their fight against the Imperials. Skywalker, deciding to confront his father, Darth Vader, left the group, allowing himself to be captured and taken to Vader, who then brought him before his master, Emperor Palpatine.

The following day, Solo, Organa, Chewbacca, and the droids reunited with the rest of the team and proceeded towards a concealed entrance to the shield generator bunker. When an Ewok, Paploo, commandeered a speeder bike, nearly all of the scout troopers guarding the entrance pursued him, leaving only one behind. The Rebels captured this remaining trooper, and Sant donned his armor, assuming his position in front of the entrance. The team infiltrated the bunker and swiftly seized control of the control room. However, in a trap orchestrated by Emperor Palpatine, Imperial reinforcements arrived and quickly apprehended the Rebels. Suddenly, Ewoks who had been concealed in the nearby undergrowth launched an attack, creating widespread chaos and providing the Rebels with the opportunity to destroy the shield generator bunker.

The momentum of the battle began to shift in favor of the Rebels. Additional Rebel troops were deployed to the moon to aid in combating the remaining Imperials. The day after the battle, the surviving members of the team, along with a group of Ewoks led by Solo, initiated an assault against an Imperial outpost. The Rebels emerged victorious, recovering crucial information about the Empire's post-Endor strategies. Following this assault, Solo recognized that he and his Pathfinders would likely continue to be involved in further engagements if the Empire managed to establish a foothold across the Outer Rim. Consequently, the team persisted in attacking Imperial strongholds for several weeks thereafter.
