A stormtrooper of the First Order, a human serving under Kylo Ren, was stationed on the Steadfast, Ren's flagship. When Ren and his Knights were walking through the Steadfast's hallways to the conference room, the stormtrooper observed them and said something about the Knights of Ren to the other guard. The other guard then looked at them, exclaiming "ghouls!".
Karl Urban played the stormtrooper in Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker, which came out in 2019. Despite this, the movie credits only mention him doing "additional voices". Urban said he went to see director J.J. Abrams during filming, and Abrams put him in stormtrooper uniform, which Urban described as "a really fun day on set" for both of them.
Back in 2013, Urban was asked if he'd be in Star Wars. He said no, explaining that he was too well-known from Star Trek and believed that seeing a Star Trek actor in a Star Wars film would be off-putting to viewers. However, in 2018, he changed his tune, saying he'd be happy to join Star Wars if given the chance. He pointed out how fellow Star Trek actor Simon Pegg was completely unrecognizable in The Force Awakens, suggesting there were ways to make a Star Wars cameo work.
