J.J. Abrams




**Born on June 27, 1966, Jeffrey Jacob Abrams, known as J.J. Abrams, is a multifaceted American talent. He works as a film and TV producer, as well as a screenwriter, director, actor, and even a composer. He took on directing, co-writing, and co-producing roles for Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens and Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker, and he filled the role of executive producer for Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi.

Biography

In the latter part of the 2000s, StarWars.com and Star Wars: The Legacy Revealed both conducted several interviews with him.

In January 2013, the announcement came that Abrams would be directing and co-producing Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens, working alongside his longtime producing colleague, Bryan Burk, and his production company, Bad Robot. That following October, it was revealed that Abrams had also assumed the screenwriting responsibilities for the film, collaborating with Lawrence Kasdan after Michael Arndt left the project. Abrams, in conjunction with Lin-Manuel Miranda, also co-authored and performed vocals for "Jabba Flow" and "Dobra Doompa," musical pieces that are part of the Maz Kanata scenes. The Force Awakens premiered in movie theaters on December 18, 2015.

Following that, Abrams served as executive producer for Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi which came out in 2017. In September of that same year, he was selected to direct and co-produce Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker, after the original director, Colin Trevorrow, departed from the project due to disagreements with Lucasfilm. He co-wrote the screenplay for the film with Chris Terrio. Abrams joined forces with Lin-Manuel Miranda once more to compose the songs "Lindo Hey," which was featured at the Festival of the Ancestors on Pasaana, and "Oma's Place," which is heard in Oma Tres' bar before one enters Babu Frik's workshop located on Kijimi. Abrams also lent his voice to the droid D-O. The Rise of Skywalker debuted in cinemas on December 20, 2019.
