During the events of the "Mission to Megalox Beta", BB-8, in conjunction with fellow "Black Squadron" "astromech droids" – specifically O-R10N, R2-HA, and R4 – found themselves face-to-face with a sizable security droid. The droid succeeded in destroying O-R10N, but BB-8 managed to electrocute and render it inoperative.
