Unidentified Millinar species

A sentient species of hermaphrodites existed on the planet Millinar, a temperate world. This planet was situated within the Hapes Cluster of the Inner Rim and remained concealed from the rest of the galaxy by a massive dust cloud. The species' members cultivated proficiency in the Force, using abilities that even the Human Jedi Luke Skywalker – who endeavored to establish a new incarnation of the Jedi Order (previously dissolved) between the years 4 ABY and 11 ABY – was unaware of.

Behind the scenes

The species of Millinar was introduced in the Star Wars Gamemaster Handbook.

The Star Wars Gamemaster Handbook, a sourcebook for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game by West End Games released in 1993, was where this species first appeared. Within the book, it was included as part of a hypothetical scenario illustrating how to create a setting—specifically, the species' homeworld, Millinar—for gameplay purposes. Millinar was presented in the example as the Star Wars equivalent of Avalon, the legendary island from medieval legends concerning King Arthur of Britain, with the species serving as a parallel to the nine sisters (including Morgan le Fay) who governed Avalon and possessed expertise in healing and magical arts.

Later, the Wizards.com article "The Dark Forces Saga, Part 2" by Abel G. Peña and Jason Fry, dated April 7, 2005, affirmed Millinar's place within the Star Wars Legends canon. This article operates under the assumption that all information pertaining to the planet from the section of the Star Wars Gamemaster Handbook that mentions its native species is accurate as described.
