A prototype of a science droid and medical droid that could float and possessed four limbs was utilized by both the Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic during the conflict known as the Clone Wars.
During 21 BBY, following the capture of the newly awakened Zillo Beast on Malastare, the creature was transported to Coruscant. This was done so that Supreme Chancellor Palpatine could have its apparent invulnerability studied. Doctor Sionver Boll of the Republic employed a science droid to conduct numerous tests on the Zillo Beast. The droid extracted blood samples using a syringe attachment. Subsequently, it was utilized to release fumes derived from Malastarian fuel, the only known substance that was effective against the creature. However, these experiments enraged the beast, causing it to escape its confinement. This resulted in the droid being sent spinning uncontrollably, and the wreak havoc throughout the Senate District.
Later on, after the faked death of Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, a science droid stationed at the Jedi Temple shaved his head and gave him an injection. This injection altered his facial features to resemble those of Rako Hardeen, a bounty hunter, so that he could go undercover to prevent the assassination of Chancellor Palpatine.
