A laborer of the Wookiee species journeyed to the lunar body known as Alaris Prime during the period of its settlement, specifically between the dates of 39 BBY and 36 BBY. In conjunction with three additional personnel designated as laborers, this Wookiee was tasked with procuring essential materials, including sustenance, elemental carbon, energized crystals, and raw minerals, to facilitate the maintenance of a established outpost on the celestial object. Furthermore, the laborer played a role in protecting the aforementioned outpost against an assault launched by a band of gundarks, a predatory lifeform indigenous to Alaris Prime.
In order to participate in the Wookiee's initiative to settle Alaris Prime, a Wookiee worker made a trip to the moon between the years 39 BBY and 36 BBY. The worker went to a base with one other Wookiee to gather resources under the direction of Qui-Gon Jinn, a Jedi Master who had been dispatched by the Jedi Council to oversee the colonization attempt.
The employees started by gathering food from muja fruit bushes, which were located close to the command center, the only structure on the base. The Wookiees were eventually able to gather enough food, which allowed for the arrival of yet another worker at the base. The initial worker and the other workers kept gathering fruit until they had enough supplies to bring another worker to the base. After that, Jinn gave the workers instructions to practice a drill in case they were attacked by gundarks, a non-sentient species of predators on Alaris Prime, which required the workers to stop what they were doing and seek refuge in the command center. After the drill was over, Jinn instructed the workers to concentrate on gathering carbon, a resource that is extracted from trees and can be processed into duraplast for use in construction.
Later on, Chewbacca, one of the Wookiee leaders of the colonists of Alaris Prime, showed up at the command center. At the same time, four gundarks attacked the command center, forcing the worker and his fellow Wookiees to take cover inside the building, just like they had practiced in the drill. The workers used the building's turret system and Chewbacca's assistance to fend off and kill the gundarks. Following that, Chewbacca looked around the area and discovered deposits of nova crystals, which could be utilized as a kind of money in the galaxy, and ore, a resource that can be processed into durasteel. The worker took part in the collection of these resources.
The Wookiee worker was first mentioned in Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds: Prima's Official Strategy Guide by Steven L. Kent,—released on November 7, 2001—before appearing in the LucasArts video game Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds, released on November 11, 2001. The worker appears in the second level of the Wookiee tutorial campaign, "Gathering Resources," in which it is one of three generic worker units with which the player starts off and uses throughout the level. Carrying out Qui-Gon Jinn's order to collect resources is left to player discretion, so this article follows the order according to Jinn's instructions. The worker that this article refers to is the one who begins standing to the left of the command center when the level begins.
