Urcos Furdam served as a pilot for the Resistance, and was a human. Despite his Alderaanian heritage, Furdam's birth occurred following the destruction of Alderaan. By the year 35 ABY, he held the position of co-pilot aboard the Tantive IV, and he held General Leia Organa in the highest regard, viewing her as royalty. Furdam met his death during the Battle of Exegol.
Urcos Furdam made his initial appearance in the sequel trilogy film Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker, released in 2019. His name was confirmed in the reference book Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary, authored by Pablo Hidalgo, which was launched concurrently with the movie. Marcus Mumford, the lead singer of the band Mumford & Sons, played the character in a brief, uncredited role.
Blaidon Props, a model-making firm responsible for producing all of the Resistance pilot helmets for the film, crafted Furdam's flight helmet in a mere two days. The team aimed to create a standard fighter pilot helmet connected to an oxygen mask. The helmet's visor was originally a stormtrooper lens prop, taken from the 2016 movie Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
