Creating or Expanding Canon Articles

When creating or expanding Canon articles, avoid simply copying and pasting from Legends articles and removing Legends-specific details, links, and sources. Instead, these articles should be written anew. While some information overlap between Canon and Legends is acceptable, directly copying from Legends articles is inaccurate, represents substandard editing (plagiarism is strictly forbidden), and is therefore unacceptable. Understood. I will ensure I write from the ground up when I am working on these pages. --Marcuspearl (talk) 03:38, November 16, 2014 (UTC)

Regarding Legends Pages

Hello Marcuspearl. I have requested that an administrator revert the page move of "CT-4040/Legends" back to "CT-4040." Currently, Wookieepedia's guidelines dictate that Legends pages serve as the primary page (although this is subject to change). Consequently, we only create /Canon subpages, not /Legends ones. I hope this clarifies the situation. Please feel free to ask if you have any questions. Thank you! - Brandon Rhea(talk) 04:16, January 4, 2015 (UTC)

Thanks Brandon, I attempted to reverse the edit, but I apparently failed to do so. --Marcuspearl (talk) 05:02, January 4, 2015 (UTC)

Grammar and Spelling

Hello Marcuspearl. Regarding the modifications you've made to Obi-Wan Kenobi, kindly remember that all in-universe articles must adhere to past tense writing conventions. Thus, instead of writing, "Obi-Wan returns to the Jedi Temple," the correct form is "Obi-Wan returned to the Jedi Temple." Also, it's important to proofread for spelling errors, as there are several present.--Richterbelmont10 (come in R2!) 05:20, January 5, 2015 (UTC)

I appreciate you pointing that out. I've been encountering some difficulties maintaining accurate spelling, especially with the editor and autocorrect. --Marcuspearl (talk) 05:23, January 5, 2015 (UTC)

Echoing what others have mentioned, your spelling requires significant attention. However, I'm glad you're contributing to the article's expansion. Jkirk8907 (talk) 06:44, January 6, 2015 (UTC)

Concerning Fan-made Art

The image you recently uploaded and which has now been removed, named "Luke_Skywalker_Return_of_the_Jedi_Promo.jpg", was distinctly watermarked, indicating its origin from the fan-art website rabittooth.com. However, you identified it as a "Promotional image for Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi," a designation reserved exclusively for official images that are either unmodified or only minimally modified. While we value all good-faith contributions to Wookieepedia, we kindly request that you consult Wookieepedia:Images, accessible via the "other policies and guidelines" link in your welcome message, to familiarize yourself with the sourcing and licensing requirements before uploading additional images. Repeated violations of the image policy or the provision of false information in an upload description will be regarded as vandalism and may lead to a block. Thank you for your cooperation. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 00:41, January 9, 2015 (UTC)

It appeared to be a promotional image. This will not happen in the future. --Marcuspearl (talk) 00:49, January 9, 2015 (UTC)

Regarding Battle of Bespin/Canon

Thank you for your enthusiasm in enhancing the wiki. Nevertheless, please refrain from creating pages that consist solely of an infobox, contain minimal content, or are not properly tagged. If your page is not yet ready for publication, you may want to consider establishing a personal workspace, such as the one I have here, and working on it there until you believe it is sufficiently developed for posting. ProfessorTofty (talk) 04:22, January 20, 2015 (UTC)

Tense and Hyperlinks

I appreciate the edits you've made; however, could you ensure that all content is written in the past tense and that you provide links to relevant pages? For instance, if you mention Wilhuff Tarkin within a section and he has not been previously mentioned, please include a link to his corresponding page. Cevan (talk) 21:21, February 3, 2015 (UTC)

Understood completely.--Marcuspearl (talk) 21:28, February 3, 2015 (UTC)

Warning Notice

I'm unsure of your intentions here, but these actions must cease. In addition to disrupting formatting and removing/relocating categories, you are employing present tense, inconsistent capitalization, and duplicating text from other articles. Overall, the quality of your contributions is so low that they are almost instantly reverted. I must ask you to refrain from making substantial contributions of this nature unless you are willing to thoroughly review them and elevate their quality to the required standard. Furthermore, continued formatting errors and related issues may result in a block. Cade Calrayn 02:18, February 4, 2015 (UTC)

  • The edits made to that article are derived from a plot summary that I personally composed. I have experienced unfavorable treatment on this website and have been ridiculed for even the most trivial matters. I am currently addressing the grammatical issues and have been making an effort to avoid copy-pasting content. -- Marcuspearl ( talk ) 02:21, February 4, 2015 (UTC) The capitalization and grammar in your response is precisely what I'm talking about; none of the capitalized words in your first sentence should be capitalized. Cade Calrayn 02:23, February 4, 2015 (UTC) I understand that, but the warning pertained to my edits on The Inquisitor, not my grammatical skills.--Marcuspearl (talk) 02:24, February 4, 2015 (UTC) Indeed, and the deficiencies in your edits to mainspace articles mirror those in your response. I highlighted the errors in your response as a helpful illustration. Cade Calrayn 02:26, February 4, 2015 (UTC) I understand now. I will concentrate on improving my grammar.--Marcuspearl (talk) 04:45, February 4, 2015 (UTC)

You have been restricted from editing for a period of two weeks due to the aforementioned issues. Upon your return, please devote greater attention to the quality of your contributions. Despite being provided with explicit details regarding the problems, they were disregarded. To challenge this block, please contact the administrator who issued the block, providing the reasons why you believe the block is unwarranted. Cade Calrayn 05:31, February 4, 2015 (UTC)

Concerning Sandboxes

Creating a sandbox (or Jundland Wastes, or whatever name you prefer) is actually quite simple. In the address bar of your web browser, enter the address for your user page as you normally would, for example, http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/User:Marcuspearl. Then, append a slash followed by the name you wish to give your sandbox, such as http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/User:Marcuspearl/Sandbox or any other name you choose – for example, http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/User:Marcuspearl/Hyperspace_Playground_of_Awesome or anything else. Once the page loads, click on "edit" as you would for any other page, add your desired content, save the page, and you're all set. ProfessorTofty (talk) 04:10, February 22, 2015 (UTC)

Editing Privileges Revoked

You are now blocked from contributing due to the creation of duplicate articles, editing despite the presence of prominently displayed Inuse templates, and a multitude of pervasive issues affecting nearly every edit you make. These include grammar, the absence of categories, improper template usage, and recurrent errors in both grammar and spelling. I regret to inform you that we maintain a certain standard of competence, particularly regarding the major articles you have been editing. To appeal this block, kindly contact the blocking administrator, providing your justification for why you believe the block is unwarranted. Cade Calrayn 03:32, May 13, 2015 (UTC)

Regarding Ackbar and Veers Links

Hi Marcus. When you have a moment, could you please update the link to "Ackbar" on your user page to read "Gial Ackbar/Canon|Gial Ackbar," and also change the link for "Veers" to "Maximillian Veers"? Thanks! Cevan (talk) 00:51, September 7, 2015 (UTC)

Concerning TCW Legends Links

Hello, this is just a brief note. Given that The Clone Wars TV series exists within both Canon and Legends continuities, the appearance section in episode articles should include both, similar to the pages for the initial six Saga films. However, the plot summary and credits can utilize canon links. Cwedin(talk) 06:28, February 28, 2016 (UTC)
