WP:RWM

Greetings! I'm reaching out from the Wook to personally invite you to explore the WookieeProject Real World Music initiative. Your expertise in soundtracks, games, and movies would be a valuable addition. If you're unfamiliar with wikis, don't worry, I'm here to assist. And if joining isn't your thing, that's perfectly fine too. It's a pleasure to connect with you! MasterFred (Whatever) 04:51, October 29, 2010 (UTC)

Re: WP:RWM

Hello, I'm currently unable to post on your talk page directly due to external link restrictions for new users, so I hope you see this message here. I'm definitely interested in contributing. However, my time is extremely limited, and mastering the Wookieepedia style will take a while. I have some familiarity with wiki markup, but not with the specific conventions used here. I'm currently reviewing the Manual of Style. I have access to all my soundtracks and most of my games, so I can easily reference them. Furthermore, I can always edit for spelling, grammar, tense, and neutral POV, regardless of how busy I am. I would appreciate some guidance to avoid getting sidetracked. Thank you for the invitation and the warm welcome! Winchester 327 06:31, October 29, 2010 (UTC)

  • Fantastic! Feel free to ask any questions you have, and I'll do my best to answer them. Don't be afraid to be BOLD! If your edits are reverted, we'll provide a polite explanation. Believe me, I struggled with the site's policies at first too. :P I'm happy to have you on board WP:RWM. I'll add you to the project list. Check out the project page to see what's currently being worked on. If you can't contribute much right now, no worries. Every contribution, no matter how small, is appreciated. Good work

  • Tope beat me to it! Thanks for your assistance on WookieeProject:Aliens' Twi'lek project. It's arguably the most daunting species project anyone could undertake (with the possible exception of Human), so your contributions are greatly valued! If you're interested in aliens, feel free to explore our project; we're always eager to welcome new members. :) ~ SavageBob 05:15, January 31, 2011 (UTC) I appreciate the acknowledgement! I'll continue working on the Twi'lek page within WP:AS because I have access to many relevant sources. I'm impressed by the project's organization. I own nearly all the Essential Guides, several sourcebooks, and I might acquire a complete set of Fact Files this month (amazing!), so please let me know if you need any information looked up. I'm very interested in staying involved with this project. Winchester 327 06:25, January 31, 2011 (UTC) Wow, acquiring the Fact Files is a great achievement. Only a few users here possess them, so you'll likely become a sought-after resource. ;) Thank you as well for your contributions to the Forum:Save the Gotals page. Unlike the Twi'lek project, we're directly incorporating any information we find into the Gotal article, but you're welcome to leave notes on the forum page if you prefer. We appreciate any assistance we can get! :) ~ SavageBob 16:30, January 31, 2011 (UTC)

Moving articles

Hi there, when renaming an article, such as De Agostini, please utilize the "move" function instead of copying and pasting the content into a new article. The move function correctly preserves the edit history. Otherwise, great work. (: –Tm_T (Talk) 07:27, May 4, 2011 (UTC)

  • Oh, I apologize for that error. Thanks for informing me; I'll remember to use the move function in the future! Winchester 327 07:31, May 4, 2011 (UTC)

Unidentified mustachioed humanoid (Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina)

Hello, I'm writing to inquire if you own Star Wars: The Official Starships & Vehicles Collection 1 and Star Wars: Behind the Magic. I'm asking because Bom Vimdin is featured in those sources. I'm interested in any information or images of him, regardless of how minor the appearance or detail. Thank you very much. --Exiled Jedi (Greetings) 15:39, June 7, 2011 (UTC)

  • Just a heads up that this image, which shows the mustachioed individual in the background, is probably your best bet. Is it included in either of those sources? Menkooroo 16:08, June 7, 2011 (UTC) Hi, sorry for the delay in responding. I'll be out of class at 6:00 PM tonight and will check both sources for you after that! Winchester 327 19:28, June 14, 2011 (UTC) There's no mention of either him or Bom Vimdin in The Official Starships & Vehicles Collection 1, and the picture of Bom is different: It shows more of his profile on the right (instead of the left side of his face), and that unidentified man definitely isn't in the background. I checked other cantina images as well. Also, I saw that Behind the Magic was added to his page—does that mean someone already checked? Winchester 327 00:46, June 15, 2011 (UTC) Thank you for providing the information from Star Wars: The Official Starships & Vehicles Collection 1. --Exiled Jedi (Greetings) 01:42, June 15, 2011 (UTC)

Query

Greetings Winchester, I noticed that you possess Star Wars: The Official Starships & Vehicles Collection 5. Does that book contain any mention or image of this guy, whom I'm currently proposing for Featured Article status? Thanks in advance. Hanzo Hasashi (talk) 21:58, December 22, 2012 (UTC)

  • Nevermind, I found the information I needed; he's completely absent from the source in question. Hanzo Hasashi (talk) 22:35, January 11, 2013 (UTC)

WP:SIV

To clarify WP:SIV, you will not be eligible to vote on the CT even if you manage to acquire the 50 non-reverted, non-deleted edits. You needed the 50 edits before the CT started. I hope that clears things up. JangFett (Talk) 15:52, April 28, 2014 (UTC)

  • It does, thank you. So, if you take a break from editing, your opinion and the value of your contributions are suddenly disregarded, is that correct? Policy-making certainly isn't ideal. I understand there's "no cabal," Jang, but I must say that you regulars haven't given my valid points due consideration or treated me with the utmost respect. It feels unfairly biased, unwelcoming, and almost rude. Does policy allow for the removal of that unpleasant "oppose" text, or will it remain on the page permanently? Winchester 327 Comlink » 16:02, April 28, 2014 (UTC) Unfortunately, it must remain there for the sake of public record. I intend no disrespect or discouragement, but WP:SIV applies to everyone, including the regulars, should they be inactive for six months. If they comment on a future CT, their vote will also be stricken, so please don't feel singled out. You're always welcome to copy and paste your concerns (without the votestruck) in the discussion section of the CT. :) JangFett (Talk) 16:08, April 28, 2014 (UTC) I understand. Thank you for your patience! Winchester 327 Comlink » 19:46, April 28, 2014 (UTC)

Blocked

You are now blocked from editing for a duration of 6 months due to violations of our No personal attacks and Civility policies. The behavior and venting you've exhibited, initially on the new Canon policy proposal forum and subsequently in this subpage, is deemed unacceptable. The current situation facing Wookieepedia demands the highest level of maturity and civil communication within the community, and you have demonstrated an inability to participate constructively. I'm referencing a prior similar administrative decision to emphasize that your infrequent—or perhaps more accurately, nearly nonexistent—presence on this wiki over the past two years has justified this extended block period. Consequently, you have forfeited your right to participate in the ongoing discussions as Wookieepedia determines its future over the next six months. To challenge this block, please contact the administrator who issued it, providing the reasons why you believe the block is unwarranted. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 23:03, April 28, 2014 (UTC)
