Articles
We appreciate your contributions to Wookieepedia! Kindly be aware that subjects like love and attachment are not suitable for dedicated articles because they lack the necessary in-universe distinctiveness as outlined in the Wookieepedia:Notability policy. Your efforts might find a better home within articles focusing on topics such as the Force, Cosmic Force, or the Jedi Code. Furthermore, to streamline your editing process and ensure accurate wikicode formatting, I suggest switching to the source editor. Thank you! OOM 224 ༼༽talk༼༽ 12:39, 24 February 2021 (UTC)
- My mistake. The reason is actually described in WP:NOT#Wookieepedia is not a dictionary, instead of the notability policy. OOM 224 ༼༽talk༼༽ 12:44, 24 February 2021 (UTC)
- (I hope this is the right way to respond) I appreciate the information you provided! My reasoning for suggesting an article on attachment was that its usage is primarily within the context of Jedi philosophy, rather than in a general sense, making it more of a philosophical concept. While I understand that Wookieepedia isn't a dictionary, the existence of an article on "death" led me to believe it was worth a try! However, I now agree that it would be more appropriate to incorporate it into the Jedi Code article. No worries. Don't let this discourage you from contributing; everyone makes mistakes when they are new to Wookieepedia. Also, in the future, please remember to sign your messages using four tildes (~~~~) via the source editor. Thanks! OOM 224 ༼༽talk༼༽ 14:17, 24 February 2021 (UTC)
Sourcing
Hello again. I commend your work on the Jedi Code article. However, please remember to adhere to the Wookieepedia:Attribution and Wookieepedia:Sourcing guidelines by consistently citing your edits with relevant reference notes, as demonstrated here. Thank you. OOM 224 ༼༽talk༼༽ 15:16, 2 March 2021 (UTC)
- Greetings. I'm writing to remind you once more to provide sources for your edits. I understand that George Lucas has mentioned concepts like the dark side having a biological basis, but because they are not explicitly stated within official canon media, they cannot be included in the main text of the article. It's also a good idea to utilize the preview function before saving your edits. Doing so can help you avoid making numerous edits and potentially creating edit conflicts. For further assistance with editing, I recommend exploring the newcomers' portal. If you wish to discuss editing in more detail, the Wookieepedia Discord is a great resource. I hope this message clarifies the reasons behind my edits to the dark side of the Force article. OOM 224 ༼༽talk༼༽ 21:46, 27 April 2021 (UTC)
- Understood! I will remember that and continue as you have advised! WriterBuddha ( talk ) 08:09, 28 April 2021 (UTC)
Dark Side and Destiny
Hello Buddha, I appreciate you contacting me on my talk page! I understand your perspective, thank you for explaining it. However, I believe that the sentence regarding Yoda's discussion of destiny should be followed by a brief mention of redemption. Without it, readers might misinterpret Yoda's meaning, assuming it literally implies that individuals are permanently bound to the dark side, which is not the intended message. Also, as a quick note, please refrain from using "his or her" in articles, as we aim to foster a welcoming community for individuals who use pronouns such as they/them. Moreover, we are aware of in-universe characters who use those pronouns, making it more accurate from a lore perspective to avoid "his or her." --Editoronthewiki (talk) 15:23, 28 April 2021 (UTC)
Thank you for your reply! I understand about the Yoda point. (I included speculation there, but I see that you already addressed it). And I am very grateful that you brought the pronoun issue to my attention! I apologize for the mistake. My native language only has gender-neutral pronouns, and I am still learning to construct gender-neutral sentences in English. I will be more mindful of this in the future. Formatting
Please use this format for references: ''[[The Clone Wars: No Prisoners]]'' instead of [[The Clone Wars: No Prisoners]]. Note that titles should be italicized. - To accomplish this, you should utilize the source editor. You can switch to it through this page. OOM 224 ༼༽talk༼༽ 11:29, 1 May 2021 (UTC) I've had to dedicate some time to correcting your work. Please pay attention to everything done here for future edits. UberSoldat93 (talk) 18:52, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
I apologize for the delay in responding and correcting the errors due to personal matters. Thank you for cleaning it up; I'll do my best to avoid creating extra work for you in the future. Once again, I'm sorry. WriterBuddha (talk) 20:58, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
Jedi temples
Scott, as a canon writer, is explaining a theme present in his canon stories and the overall stories he contributes to in the design process. Do the Jedi still leave the Temple for missions? Absolutely. However, were they, in a COMPARATIVE sense, confined? Yes. They did not reside within local communities, but primarily in the Core. That is the essence of the Living Force, should you require a story source. It's not that the Jedi lack concern; rather, they have become isolated.
Regarding the notion that the Prequels represented a golden age, although Lucas stated this, it is contradicted by the events depicted in those films and other prequel media, such as Tales of the Jedi. Editoronthewiki (talk) 11:43, 19 May 2024 (UTC)
- The synopsis for The Living Force explicitly states: "The Jedi have consistently journeyed across the stars, upholding peace and justice throughout the galaxy. However, the galaxy is evolving, and so is the Jedi Order. Increasingly, the Order is focusing on the future of the Republic, remaining secluded on Coruscant, where the twelve members of the Jedi Council deliberate on crises of galactic proportions. As another Jedi Outpost, a remnant of the Republic's golden era, is slated for decommissioning on the planet Kwenn, Qui-Gon Jinn challenges the Council regarding the Order's growing isolation." Indeed, the Jedi become isolated. Scott emphasizes this point. While Yoda eventually returns, he resided with them during that period. That's the central theme of the comic. Scott's point is that the Jedi were isolated compared to their past. As the story's writer and a member of the High Republic team, he is elucidating a narrative element. There is a distinction between the prequel Jedi and those of the High Republic; that's the key point. Editoronthewiki ( talk ) 21:44, 19 May 2024 (UTC)
