The Valarian Depot functioned as a secret storage location for Lady Valarian's criminal organization, who engaged in contraband activities during the era of the Galactic Civil War. This facility was situated in the mountainous terrain close to Bestine.
In the year 1 ABY, a spacefarer managed to penetrate the depot's defenses. Their mission was to extract an RX-8 modulator from the leg of an Imperial AT-AT, acting on behalf of Rebel operative Droma Ordo. Simultaneously, the Valarians came into possession of an X-wing starfighter and intended to sell it to the Rebel Alliance. Captain Jasha of the Empire dispatched an agent to infiltrate the depot. The agent's task was to attach a tracking device to the X-wing, allowing the Empire to locate the new Rebel base.
Soon after, both Imperial Commander Barrezz and Alliance Captain Bastra sent their respective agents to the Valarian Depot. Their objective was to find a significant shipment that had been smuggled earlier from Tansarii Point Station.
Subsequently, Jabba the Hutt's overseer droid EV-9D9 tasked a spacer with infiltrating the Valarian Depot to recover droid behavior modification devices that the Valarians had pilfered. The spacer hacked a CLL-8 binary load lifter to load EV-9D9's stolen goods onto a transport ship, and then murdered the ship's pilot, Rando M'Kabe. The spacer then reprogrammed the transport for an automated flight to Wayfar, where EV-9D9 recovered the stolen cargo.
The Valarian Depot was featured in the 2003 computer game Star Wars Galaxies. This MMORPG was created by Sony Online Entertainment and distributed by LucasArts, before the game was shut down on December 15, 2011. The Valarian Depot was incorporated into the game as part of the "Legacy Quest," which was released alongside "Publish 25," also known as the "New Game Enhancements," on November 15, 2005.
