Arlan Barrezz

Arlan Barrezz, a Human male, held the rank of Commander within Imperial Intelligence during the time of the Galactic Civil War.

Biography

Following the events of the Battle of Yavin, Commander Arlan Barrezz received a posting to the Imperial garrison situated in Bestine on the planet Tatooine. Lieutenant Maximilian Vox served as his direct supervisor.

In the year 1 ABY, Barrezz was assigned the mission of locating a shipment that had been smuggled from Tansarii Point Station. This cargo had subsequently become dispersed among Tatooine's inhabitants. Due to the high level of interest from both the Empire and the Alliance in recovering the cargo, speed was crucial. Fortunately for Barrezz, a spacer opted to offer his services to him, rather than the Rebel Captain Carh'la Bastra. Barrezz accepted the spacer's offer and immediately put him to work.

Barrezz initially tasked the spacer with identifying the contents of the cargo that had been acquired by a group of Jawa traders. These Jawas had recently been seen at Tosche Station, which is located near Anchorhead. At Tosche Station, the manager Cuan Talon suggested that the spacer inquire with his warehouse manager, Janus, but Janus had already met his end at the hands of Desert Demons. The spacer retrieved the first segment of the cargo data from Janus' datapad, revealing that the Jawas had also visited the Lars homestead. At the homestead, Zef Ando agreed to provide an inventory of the items he had purchased from the Jawas. The spacer eventually located the Jawa sandcrawler in the Western Dune Sea, only to find it under attack by Tusken Raiders. The spacer intervened, repelling the Tusken Raiders and rescuing the Jawas and the droid FA-2PO. Subsequently, the spacer obtained Jawa encryption keys from the Tusken Raiders, granting him access to the sandcrawler's database.

Next, Barrezz directed the spacer to proceed to the Valarian Depot, situated near Bestine. It was discovered that the Valarian crime syndicate had acquired a portion of the missing cargo. The spacer was instructed to compile a comprehensive inventory by examining the manifests on the cargo pallets. Despite the inherent risks due to the numerous guards patrolling the depot, the spacer successfully completed the task.

Although pleased with the spacer's progress, Barrezz indicated that more remained to be done. He promptly assigned the spacer to visit the Darklighter storage facility near their estate. It emerged that some of the cargo sought by the Empire had ended up in the Darklighters' possession, necessitating another complete inventory of their cache. The spacer accepted the task and immediately sought out the storage facility, which turned out to be a cave infested with Desert Demon looters. At the cave entrance, a guard named Draci informed the spacer that the cave's security system had malfunctioned, requiring him to act swiftly. Fortunately, the spacer managed to complete a full inventory before the scavengers could destroy or steal most of the cache.

Barrezz had one final assignment for the spacer: delivering the collected data to Barrezz's slicer, Jem Lavar. In comparison to the previous tasks, locating Jem Levar proved relatively simple, though the spacer still had to rescue Lavar from a group of gunrunners. Barrezz expressed his gratitude to the spacer for providing Levar with the data. Jem Lavar analyzed the inventory data from the Jawas, the Darklighters, and the Valarians, ultimately determining that the R2 unit sought by both the Empire and the Rebellion had been purchased by the junk dealer Watto.

Barrezz instructed the spacer to retrieve the droids, leading him to Watto's Shop in Mos Espa. There, the spacer learned that the droids had already been sold as spare parts. Nevertheless, Watto agreed to reassemble the droid if the spacer could gather all the necessary components. The spacer obtained the droid body from Ji'Ni Sil in the Jawa Mountain Fortress, the legs from Syndil Na'Marr and a Bothan pilot, the motivator from one of An'Kwee's deceased podracer pilot friends, the motivator booster controller from Pah and his gang, the diagnostic controller in the Squill Cave, and finally the head from Jabba the Hutt's supervisor droid EV-9D9. Upon returning to the shop with all the parts, Watto assisted in reassembling the droid. From the reassembled droid, the spacer was able to extract the information sought by both the Empire and the Rebellion. Arlan Barrezz then ordered the spacer to immediately transmit the data to Lieutenant Vox on Naboo.
